Koala in Tree

Koala Marks his Territory

I marked my territory recently, well at least my back garden, when I put up a picket fence. Koalas do things very differently. Male koalas have a dark scent gland on their chest which is an easy way to tell a male from female. They rub this scent gland on the trees in their territory to warn other male koalas to keep away and to help attract females.
